The Berlin based project BERLIN MOVES (Moves e.V.) has been working with dancers, young movers from the urban dance scene, media artists, fashion designers, and musicians since 2016, building a unique bridge from pop culture and street dance to classical music and dance, from high culture to underground as well as to Berlin institutions like the Berliner Ensemble, Alte Münze, Jonny Knüppel and Floating Univserity. “Berlin Moves” produces and hosts a wide range of projects on stage, in public space and in music videos.
To this end, the association continuously works on projects at the interface of art and pedagogy and also organizes numerous free offers in the field of dance education and arts education for children and young people with a strong focus on accessibility, participation and diversity.
To date, the projects have been funded by the Kulturstiftung der Länder, the Fonds Darstellende Künste, the Berliner Projektfonds, the Adalbert Zajadacz Stiftung, the Fonds Dezentrale Kulturarbeit Spandau, the Fonds Soziokultur, JFSB, Chance Tanz, Künste öffnen Welten and others.
