BERLIN MOVES works with interdisciplinary productions, projects and workshops at the interface of dance, music, theater and media art with the aim of enabling accessibility and participation.
DANCE, MEDIA, DIVERSITY
BERLIN MOVES (Moves e.V.) was founded in 2016 by choreographer, movement director and educator Lior Shneior. Since then, the Berlin-based project has been working with numerous dancers, young MOVERS from the urban dance scene, media artists, fashion designers, singers and composers, forming a unique bridge between pop culture and street dance to classical music and dance, between high culture and underground.
Moves e.V. association works at the interface of art and education and organizes numerous free dance projects in the field of socio-cultural and artistic education for children and young people.
BERLIN MOVERS
Ensemble and Coaches
The young BERLIN MOVERS create their own productions at BERLIN MOVES and are supported in their dance development by experienced dancers and choreographers. The young dancers come from a wide variety of scenes and styles such as hip hop, voguing and breakdance. The aim is to enable them to participate in dance in a professional and artistic context. The BERLIN MOVERS Ensemble pursues an interdisciplinary artistic approach between dance, media art and urban cultures.
In various projects and workshops, children and young people are guided by mixed teams of experienced artistic instructors and BERLIN MOVERS coaches.
In this way, the young trainers themselves gain experience in dance education and are actively involved in the conception and implementation of the projects. They form a bridge to the children and young people, who thus come into contact with different dance styles and people from different backgrounds.
