The BERLIN MOVERS Program (Ensemble) creates a professional development space for young pre-professional movers as an alternative to classical and institutional training paths. It is aimed at dancers (movers) from diverse street dance scenes without formal dance education who wish to develop artistically and professionally within a professional context.

A trilogy of short dance video clips set to German songs by Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms, created in collaboration with BERLIN MOVES and the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, bringing together 80 young singers and dancers from across Berlin.

Salut d’Amour will be presented at the San Francisco Dance Film Festival – on November 7, 2025 in the Spotlight Shorts program and also in the online program of the festival.

Break&Jelly with Lior Shneior

The focus of the spring workshop lies on participatory choreographic practice. Whether with school students, a theatre group, or within a dance project for stage or film – and on exploring bodily perception in relation to form and space. For everyone wishing to integrate movement and choreography creatively into their work, the workshop and its methodology provide a practical and accessible tool that can be applied to their own practice.
The workshop is aimed at dance educators, dancers, actors, theatre educators, choreographers, teachers, and all those who wish to work with dance and choreography in a participatory and creative way.

SAME LOVE

In this dance and film workshop, together with young BERLIN MOVERS, we addressed the topic of mutual tolerance within the Berlin dance scene. To this end, we launched the social media campaign “SAME LOVE” and created our own production.

CLEO
June 2023
The semi-digital dance opera Cleo was created together with the BERLIN MOVES Ensemble as a choreographic journey of exploration through both real and virtual space, navigating the wide spectrum of Cleopatra interpretations—from Georg Friedrich Händel’s baroque aria to Beyoncé’s headpieces. Prior to this, Lior Sheinor, in collaboration with Rocani Studio and the motion capture specialists OnPoint Studios, had developed the 3D platform Body, Form, (Digital) Space, which enables choreographic concepts to be explored and visualized virtually and interactively. With Cleo, the program was brought to life in a stage production.

BERLIN MOVES @ Berliner Ensemble / Sonata der Pflaumenbaum
April 2021
To Bertolt Brecht’s famous poem Der Pflaumenbaum and a sonata by Alessandro Scarlatti, hip-hop dancers of the BERLIN MOVERS Ensemble performed live at the Berliner Ensemble. In addition to the stage performance, a dance film of the same name was also created at the Berliner Ensemble theatre.
